It starts with fire...
I create a fire using mostly cedar, I try to initiate this process under the light of a full moon, I feel it adds a magical essence to the foundation process.

The next morning once the ashes have cooled, I collect them and grind them down into a fine powder, using a mortar and pestle.

I then take the fine powder pigments and add them to an acrylic mixing medium just before laying them as the foundation of my Textured Canvas Paintings.
This process gives the paintings a unique textured appearance. Since I create my art work using mostly alcohol ink, this process enables these paintings to posess a depth and Dimension they would otherwise lack.
